Spirulina, or green algae, grows in salt lakes in tropical climates.

The name comes from the nutrients in the algae - the blue-green color indicates the high amount of chlorophyll in the algae.

Spirulina has the highest protein content of all natural plants, averaging 65-70% protein, including all essential amino acids. The large amount of chlorophyll in its composition stimulates the formation of new cells and tissues, strengthens the immune system and enriches the blood with oxygen.

Spirulina is especially rich in natural beta-carotene, vitamin E and other biologically active substances necessary for the skin, which have a beneficial effect on its regeneration processes and delay skin aging.
