The International Redcord Conference took place in the Austrian town of Sant Wolfgang, Bad Ischl, on the shore of the picturesque Wolfgangsee lake, on September 27-30, 2018.
Redcord's collaboration with experts in rehabilitation science gave the opportunity to see first-hand the scientific opinions of PhD MedDr DSc Bphty(Hons) FACP Paul Hodges and Dr biol hum Robert Schleip.
They are the world's leading researchers in their fields - motor control and musculoskeletal pain and fascia. Even on the first day of the conference, Dr. Kurt Mosseter gave a presentation on the importance of nutrition and biochemical processes in fascia and connective tissue.
We heard a presentation on changes in brain activity during abdominal muscle activation with experimentally induced pain (Rafael Gnar, Associate Professor, University of Katowice), NEURAC tests and the role of sling exercises after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (PT,PhD Maciej Bialy), scapular dyskinesia and its role in shoulder function and dysfunction, rehabilitation recommendations (PT PhD Elif Turgut) and a motivational lecture on achieving goals from Gerhard Gulewitz - extreme athlete and personal trainer.
On the second day of the conference, there was an opportunity to attend the master classes of Redcord Neurac specialists, in which the rehabilitation of the anterior cruciate ligament, running, cycling, pelvic girdle pain, shoulder rehabilitation, clinical methods of proprioception assessment and training were explained in detail, and in the sweet dish - a tour of the Salzkammergut Klinikum Bad Ischl clinic, whose rehabilitation department has 12 Redcord workstations, 50 Redcord machines, not to mention general equipment for rehabilitation.
It is used in daily work by 15 physiotherapists and occupational therapists working with geriatric, neurological, pre- and post-arthroplasty and orthopedic surgery patients, children and adults.
In several wards, Redcord devices are located above patient beds - for early activation. The Redcord device is even used in the work of a speech therapist!
On the third day of the conference, there were meetings for Redcord Neurac certified therapists, Neurac instructors and sales representatives. We were introduced to the future strategy, the vision of method development and improvement, as well as expressed our proposals for further action.
In the evenings and between the busy days of the conference, there was a great opportunity to exchange experiences and make contacts with professionals from other countries, both in formal meetings and informal conversations. 250 participants from 33 countries took part in the conference.
